Are we alone?
One of the biggest mysteries confronting people today is ,whether we are alone in the Universe. As technology improves, scientists and astronomers constantly re-assess our status in the universe. To put this into perspective, at one point humans considered that the world revolves around the earth, then we realized that the earth revolves around the sun. Some people also think that the world revolves around them. Furthermore our telescopes and satelites have identified many earth like planets and many other suns. We are therefore not unique. The possibility that there is life out there is therefore probable (>50%) as opposed to possible(<50%),

One of the key methods to finding life out there is by using our satellites, antennaes and telescopes to pick up sound waves from other galaxies. We base this on the assumption that people make noise, communicate verbally or use radio waves to communicate over geographical distances. I would presume this to be a really boring process especially if you not finding or hearing anything for many years. This changed for Jerry R. Ehman on 15 August 1977, while working on a SETI project at the Big Ear radio telescope of The Ohio State University when he detected a 29 second radio signal from the constellation Sagitarius and wrote "Wow" alongside the radio feed transcript. This gave rise to the term the "Wow Signal". This signal was never heard again. Where did this signal come from? What does it mean? Who sent it? These are mysteries that hopefully science will one day discover or maybe these dudes who transmitted the signal find us.
