Many years ago during the 1980s, there was a very good show called Unsolved Mysteries which used to be a regular feature in my home. The story that freaked me out, even causing nightmares was related to a person named DB Cooper. The story goes like this. On November 24 1971 which is almost 10 years before I was born, a man by the name of Dan Cooper described as a person in his 40s was a passenger on a Northwest Orient Airline B727 from Portland to Seattle. During the flight he hijacked the plane demanding 200 000 USD in ransom money or else he would detonate a bomb. Subsequently, the aeroplane landed, the ransom money was handed over and most passengers were allowed to leave. The plane then took off once again. Whilst in flight, DB Cooper exited the plane using a Parachute. To this day, he has not been caught, nobody knows who he is/was and has become somewhat of an urban legend.
The Taos Hum
There is a town in the USA known as Taos in the state of New Mexico. For many years, people in this town have often heard a sound resembling an idling diesel engine. For those of us who do not know what this sounds like, picture a person snoring in the room next to you. This sound is heard by all but somehow does not appear or cannot be recorded on any recording equipment and can only be heard with ones 2 ears. Various researchers and scientists have tried to locate the source of this sound but to no avail. I don't believe this has anything to do with the paranormal but time will surely tell where this sound came from. Isnt an Egg an Egg?
The US tends to do things opposite to what the British Do. The British, have right hand drive cars and keep to the left, the Americans, have left hand drive cars and keep to the right. The British tighten screws clockwise, the Americans tighten it anti-clockwise. Here is where it gets really cool: US Eggs would be illegal in British supermarkets because they are washed. British Eggs would be illegal in US Supermarkets because they are unwashed. Isnt an egg an egg? Why be complicated? If its unwashed, wash it and if its washed, its a bonus. Come on people, lets be practical, instead of making life difficult. There was a religious figure, who was born in December, had a virgin birth, was seen as savior to those who followed him, died, was resurrected and is coming back to save the world. Does this sound familiar? Who is this person? For most people, the answer would be Jesus. The real answer, Yes Jesus, Spot On, but well not only him. Horus, the Sun(Not son) God of ancient Egypt, was also born of a virgin birth in December, his birth was marked by a star, was baptized at the age of 30, was crucified on a cross, died, was resurrected and is believed to also be coming back to save the world. Other ancient Gods who enjoy the some of the characteristics set out above include, the eastern savior God, Virishna, the Hindu God Krishna (If one anglicises Krishna word you end up with Christo-is this another Christ?) and the Greek God Adonis. Studies have shown that people who spend more time in the sun are happier, more optimistic and less likely to suffer from depression. Try it, it works. Another age old saying is, If you worry you die, you don't worry you still die, so why worry and die. A drop of rain on the window pane does not mean that there is a hurricane. So come on people, enjoy your lives, don't sweat the petty and don't pet the sweaty. Our Mysterious Planet, Please Join Us Down South
I have always been passionate about geography and travelling. These are some of the anomalies I have seen. The earth is broken up into two hemispheres. The North and South. Here is where it gets weird. The Northern hemisphere has the most amount of land and the least amount of water. At the same time it has the most amount of people living in it. The Southern hemisphere has the least amount of land, the most water but has a bigger pole represented by the Antarctic. How did the earth find it self looking like this. Why do most people live in the north and not the South. Why is it we have a bigger Antarctica than the Arctic. These are some of the mysteries of the world. When a male penguin falls in love with a female penguin, he searches teh entire beach to find the perfect pebble to present to her. And when he finally finds it, he waddles over to her and places the pebble in front of her. Kind of like a proposal. Another important point is that when a female penguin lays eggs. The male penguin keeps the egg between his legs until the egg hatches. Thats what you call fatherly instincts. I think nature has a lot of things to teach us human beings. For most people, don't expect a lady to chase after you. In most cases, you need to try your luck with them. Many people have all kinds of phobias. Some are quite unique, like fear of clocks, clowns but this one does it for me. I personally do not suffer from this, but there exists a phobia known as pentheraphobia. For those of us who have never heard about this, it is simply a fear of "Mother In Laws". This adds credence to the saying, that there are answers for all kinds of dudes in this world. Source: Google it for yourself |
