Many years ago during the 1980s, there was a very good show called Unsolved Mysteries which used to be a regular feature in my home. The story that freaked me out, even causing nightmares was related to a person named DB Cooper. The story goes like this. On November 24 1971 which is almost 10 years before I was born, a man by the name of Dan Cooper described as a person in his 40s was a passenger on a Northwest Orient Airline B727 from Portland to Seattle. During the flight he hijacked the plane demanding 200 000 USD in ransom money or else he would detonate a bomb. Subsequently, the aeroplane landed, the ransom money was handed over and most passengers were allowed to leave. The plane then took off once again. Whilst in flight, DB Cooper exited the plane using a Parachute. To this day, he has not been caught, nobody knows who he is/was and has become somewhat of an urban legend.
The Taos Hum
There is a town in the USA known as Taos in the state of New Mexico. For many years, people in this town have often heard a sound resembling an idling diesel engine. For those of us who do not know what this sounds like, picture a person snoring in the room next to you. This sound is heard by all but somehow does not appear or cannot be recorded on any recording equipment and can only be heard with ones 2 ears. Various researchers and scientists have tried to locate the source of this sound but to no avail. I don't believe this has anything to do with the paranormal but time will surely tell where this sound came from. |
